HICAP’s commitment to the regional hotel investment community extends beyond hosting networking events and conferences. HICAP has a vast array of award programs to shine a spotlight on the deals, developments, and professionals that are stepping outside the box and advancing the industry.

HICAP Deal Of the Year Awards

The HICAP Deal Of the Year Awards highlight the most dynamic deals and developments and honor the ongoing achievements of our industry’s leaders. The nomination period is closed. All entries were due by midnight (SGT) on Friday, 29 August 2025.

We welcome nominations from the entire industry. A select committee of industry peers then vote to create a shortlist of three deals, from which the final winner is determined by delegate votes immediately prior to HICAP.

REGGIE SHIU DEVELOPMENT OF THE YEAR
The HICAP Reggie Shiu Development of the Year Award recognizes a newly built, redeveloped, or repositioned (after significant product renovations and/or enhancements) hotel opened, reopened, or completed their repositioning in Asia Pacific between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025. This award recognizes the single development of the year representing the accomplishments of material market impact in a variety of terms including overcoming challenges to completion, scale, innovation, quality, performance, and return on investment.


SINGLE ASSET TRANSACTION OF THE YEAR
The HICAP Single Asset Transaction of the Year Award recognizes the most complex or innovative transaction in which more than a 50 percent ownership stake has been acquired (transaction closed) in respect of a hotel or resort in Asia Pacific between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025.

MERGER & ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR
The HICAP Merger & Acquisition of the Year Award recognizes an acquisition of a controlling stake in a portfolio of hotels, company, or brand ownership entity in Asia Pacific or undertaken by an Asian-based company between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025.

The annual HICAP Sustainable Hotel Awards are designed to recognize hotels in the Asia Pacific region creating innovative new methods, strategies, and technologies to face today’s sustainable development challenge, while providing tangible examples of sustainable best practices that can be replicated and adapted across the region. HICAP Sustainable Hotel Award categories include:
